About the book
Value
The book follows the lives of Alice and Job as they migrate from India to the US to pursue higher education, unaware their daughter Hope will witness humanity’s exponential leap. Their daughter hope will be born next year (2025).
The story starts when Hope is ten-years-old, in the year 2035 and ends when she is 44(2070), in colony on Mars called Orion 1. The book is an extension of current technologies till the point Hope and her husband Jim Board the starship Odyssey for their journey to Orion 1, the metropolis on Mars. As they board Odyssey, they experience the exponential leap, where technology becomes like magic and can play with all five human senses.
The message in the book is that Humanity is at a critical junction, where it needs to think as one, at a planetary level. The arrival of a superintelligence allows humans to achieve this objective in this book. If humanity can pull this off and avoid the harmful side of exponential technology, then our descendants will enter an age of abundance.
They will live longer and healthier. They will be able to experience worlds restricted only by their imagination. Climate change is a constant hum in the background. The book also looks at climate change through the eyes of Hope’s 15-year-old daughter Bhavishya, who struggles to understand why her ancestors could not preserve her beautiful blue planet.
